Nike Romaleos 3
The Nike Romaleos 3 are a great weightlifting shoe that are built to last you for your entire lifting career if you so choose. They are made extremely well.
This is the second most expensive weightlifting shoe on our list. It is right at $189.00 on amazon.
I like this shoes. They fit right, they are solid, they perform extremely well. They are just on the pricey side of things.
Built To Last
The Nike Romaleos have always been a good shoe. Since the first pair made by Nike they have showed to be both stylish as well as functional. When it comes to a weightlifting shoe they should have a solid heel construction as well as a sole that is both rigid but also provide the right amount of traction. The Nike Romaleos 3 hit a home run on all of those accounts. You can tell that they are made to last a user a very very long time.
As said above having a solid heel is imperative to a weightlifting shoe. The Nike Romaleos hits the mark here. It is a polycarbonate heel which is not surprising for it being a modern shoe. It makes it lighter than the original weightlifting shoes that sit on wooden heels. The heel is 3/4 of an inch which is again generally standard for weightlifting shoes of this caliber. Another aspect of the heel that is important is the cup in which the heel sits in. IT need to also be constructed extremely well. This shoe again hits the mark their as well.
At the end of the day when you are looking for a weightlifting shoe all you care about is one thing. Does it perform well. They are made to help you perform your lifting movements better and at the end of the day all the style and construction is extras. The Nike Romaleos perform very well. They are stiff, they grip the platform, and they don't leak power through a soft heel. So they would be at the top of the list on performance.
Now once you have fit and performance down you are going to look at the price. If not the first thing you look at. The price needs to match the performance. This is where the Nike Romaleos are going to lose a lot of people. They are extremely expensive. They are over the top expensive. That is why many athletes will ignore these shoes. As great as they are and how great a performer they are. The price is just hard to justify. If you have some extra cash sitting around and you just can't handle not having them then by all means do what you gotta do. But You can get a really good shoe for much less money.
