Sports Can Save Your Life, Get Involved

I must say, yes! It has been said that sports do reveal a person’s true character. I firmly believe that there’s no better way to hone these positive qualities than through sports involvement.

Sports over the last century

Games have been a great source of inspiration, camaraderie, and love. Simple sports can unite people regardless of age, gender, social class, family background, and status in life. Individual or team players of any sport could be men or women, young and old, privileged or underprivileged, working class or non – working class.

Through constant interaction with teammates, sports could easily foster true friendship. Moreover, it also gives opportunities to make new friends. It cannot be denied that games have become a unifying force and power. Sports likewise symbolize equality.

People Have Become Better Because Of Sports.

The strength of person’s character can be molded by the lessons learned. Those are patience, perseverance, punctuality, and dedication.  Since the purpose of sports is varied. And thus it could mean different things to various people.

Many would probably agree that organized sports participation can be intrinsically valuable.  And will eventually bring genuine happiness in a wide range of sports participants.

People learn the joy of body movement and the challenge of risk-taking. People who are active in sports will learn not only about their strengths but their weaknesses and limitations as well. When people engage in sports, they become productive, relaxed and a lot happier.

Relatively, sports promote health and wellness not just for the young once but even for the elderly.

  • Vitamins (as found in fruits and vegetables, for instance) and minerals like calcium (found in dairy products)

While doing some research, I have found out and read in one article that “The quality and amount of sleep athletes get is often the key to winning.” So, it is essential for us to get some sleep and take some rest. For teenagers ages, fourteen to seventeen at least eight to ten hours of sleep is advised.

Younger adults, ages eighteen to twenty-five, sleep range is from seven to nine hours (under the new category). For adults ages twenty-six to sixty-four, sleep range did not change and remains seven to nine hours. And for older adult’s ages sixty-five and up, sleep range is from seven to eight hours under the new category.

Aside from proper rest and sleep, exercise is equally important in sports. Regular physical activity is very beneficial to our body. It will reduce and prevent the risk of having such illness and diseases like blood pressure, heart disease, colon cancer or diabetes. Furthermore, exercise is also good for your mind. Make it a habit to take some walk, stretch and exercise as it will also reduce stress, anxiety, and depression.
